Help with ensuring that Adobe Reader runs in web browser window

While Adobe Reader is starting, eForms displays a message asking you to be patient while the form loads. If the PDF form appears in a separate window then Adobe Reader is not running in the browser. Under the Internet option in the Preferences menu of Adobe Reader, check that "Display PDF in browser" is enabled. Also, under the JavaScript option of the Preferences menu, check that "Enable Acrobat JavaScript" is enabled.

Mac Users - System requirements

For eForms to function correctly, Adobe Reader needs to run within a web browser window. Whereas this functionality has been standard on Windows PCs for some years, it has only been supported on Macs relatively recently. On a Mac, the following versions (or later versions) of operating system, browser and Adobe Reader are known to work correctly:

  • Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4.5 (Tiger)
  • Browser: Safari 2.0
  • Version of Adobe Reader: 7.0.7

It has been reported that in some cases eForms also operates under OS X 10.3 (Panther).

You can download a free copy of the latest version of Adobe Reader from Adobe.
